WHY USE PHENOPATH DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES?

With highly skilled pathologists and technologists, using state-of-the-art diagnostic technologies, PhenoPath Laboratories provides screening, diagnostic, and prognostic testing services to hospitals, physician offices, surgery centers, biopharmaceutical companies and research institutions nationwide.

Founded in 1998 by Dr. Allen M. Gown, a pathologist-scientist who is one of the world's leading experts in the diagnostic and research applications of immunohistochemistry, PhenoPath has grown to be a highly respected, national reference laboratory embracing IHC, FISH, CISH, flow cytometric, and PCR technologies. As a physician-owned laboratory, PhenoPath does not cater to outside interests, such as Wall Street or capital investors. With a staff of over 50 employees, PhenoPath is committed to providing outstanding clinical services.

Our pathologists are nationally and internationally recognized leaders in diagnostic immunophenotyping, publishing widely and giving regional and national lectures and workshops on a regular basis. Using both manual and automated techniques, our technologists are recognized experts in histology and immunohistochemistry, with many years of experience. Our front office staff is knowledgeable and friendly, making specimen transit, acquisition, and case reporting as efficient for the referring pathologist as possible.

PhenoPath Laboratories recognizes that pathology groups have different needs for ancillary surgical pathology testing services. For some groups, the cost and complexity of these ancillary tests preclude performance of them in their own laboratories. For these laboratories we can meet nearly all of their ancillary testing needs. However, other laboratories prefer to use PhenoPath Laboratories to complement the immunohistochemistry and/or molecular studies performed in their laboratories. Some pathologists prefer to tap into the expertise of PhenoPath Laboratories by sending only the more complex or difficult cases, while others will only send occasional cases for which they do not have the appropriate antibodies. Whatever your needs, the staff, technologists, and pathologists at PhenoPath Laboratories will work with you to ensure optimal patient care.

PhenoPath Laboratories’ clinical services are assisted by PhenoPathDB™, a custom-designed pathology information system, that permits semi-automatic generation of reports at the microscope during case signout and ensures highly accurate reports with extremely rapid turnaround time. Final reports are faxed immediately following case sign-out; because cases are run the day following receipt of the specimen, final reports are generally released within one or two days of receiving the case.

PhenoPath Laboratories provides a level of personalized service not possible in larger, commercial reference laboratories. You will find the pathologist responsible for any case you send (or might like to send) readily available for telephone or email inquiries. PhenoPath reports are clear, detailed and informative, incorporating color images of the key findings (see sample reports).
